Rinke van Remortel (born 1978) is a professional designer since 2004. He studied industrial design engineering at Delft University of Technology, where he graduated at the department Design for Sustainability.
In 2006 he joined the R&D department of Hapro International, a manufacturer of roof boxes and light therapy devices. At Hapro he works as a designer and as a design engineer. He designed several roof boxes for private label clients and engineered safety parts for these roof boxes. Besides work on roof boxes he engineered the body parts of several tanning devices. In 2010 Rinke van Remortel won the design competition for "the dopper", “the perfect bottle for tap water.”
The Dopper is a good example of the style of Rinke van Remortel where aestatics, fun and function are combined. At this moment he still works for the Dopper as a freelance design consultant, which he combines with his job at Hapro.
The ambition of Rinke van Remortel is to work on more sustainable design projects and inspiring designs in the field of product, graphic and interior design. With his work he hopes to surprise people and prove that sustainable design can be modern and stylish.
